The gallant knight rode forth, storming into the dark castle of the evil magician who held the princess captive. Unfortunately for our gallant knight, the evil magician locked her up in a tower that rose high into the sky. Of course, getting into the castle was the easy part; climbing the spiral staircase to reach the top of the tower was a bigger problem.
The evil magician knew of his fear for heights. He made sure he put this information to good use.
"I'll...save y-you, Princess! I will!" cried the frightened knight as he clung desperately on the sides of the wall. He was halfway up to the top, but his fear of heights slowed him down.

Razakel chuckled softly, watching his puppets all dressed up in costumes he made not too long ago. For Elliot, the gallant but frightened knight, a nice set of armour and sword made entirely out of wood. It was crudely made, but he could still see that it served its purpose well. Ezra stood on a higher ground, looking tall and arrogant in his black robes with fire designs on it.
As for Estel, Razakel made sure her costume was beautiful. He gave her a long-haired black wig that shimmered every time she turned. Her dress was of deep velvet red with beautiful laces that were intricately designed with skill.
He managed to gather the materials from trash and transformed them into costumes for his puppets.

He untangled some of the strings from his fingers and left his little lore, turning to see Bonny running towards him. There were thoughts, random thoughts, that passed through his mind. And for some reason, he found himself commenting on the colour of her hair, the manner of her speech, the way she walked, the way she stopped to catch her breath. To others, perhaps the term "checking out" seem to appeal more here from the way his eyes observed her. But it was nothing like the sort to him, he was only studying her, as though seeing a human being after so long.
Razakel paused for a moment, his expression indifferent. Then, he remembered her as the lady whom he met days ago. Another random thought passed by and stood still for a moment, but he ignored it. He quickly stood up and bowed to her, taking his hat off as he did so.
"A pleasure to see you again, Miss Bonny," he smiled as he got up, "'Tis been quite a while since we've last met, no?"
Can't be too sure. Must be like those type of people that I would like to get rid of. Fast.
Hush, all of you. You are confusing my mind.
Razakel offered her a seat; "It surprises me to see someone like you here, of all people, since you strike me as a very busy lady," he put his hat back on, "Would you like something to drink, then? There is a shop nearby and I could get something to cool your throat,"

"Oh, no! I could never accept. You are a kind man and far too generous. I was only scoping the area and I saw you-- you sitting there.. right here. So I asked myself why not exchange salutations?" Bonny shifted her weight from one foot to another and breathed laboriously into her gloved hands. She loathed the cold.
Moments passed.
"How are you today?" she smiled. Her eyes creased to relay calm felicity.

He looked at her and smiled a little, seeing her efforts to withstand the cold of autumn. It was rather cute and amusing to him, but it would be cruel for him to leave it as that.
"Hmm, for a chilly morning, I suppose a nice warm coat should suffice for you,"
Razakel took off his oversized cloak and felt the cloth for its texture. It was thick, and has a velvet-like touch to it, he realised. Perhaps not as thick as wool, but it was enough to act as a temporary shield against the cold for someone like Bonny.
He wrapped the cloak around her shoulders gently; "The cold seems to be bothering you more than it does to me," Razakel chuckled and gathered his puppets together, "The world would weep if you catch a fever from this,"

The simple act of generosity made her unreasonably nervous. It was similar to the feeling she received from large groups of people. With nothing left to concentrate on except the conversation at hand, her anxieties rushed in. Her face felt hot. She felt immobilized.
But... still..
The coat was warm. Yes, and it smelt like he did. It was a strange one, his scent. Not like the marketed colons. Not entirely male but something alien. It was clean.
Clean was good.
"I doubt anyone, even the institute that sent me here, would weep."
She laughed but it hurt to think about. 'No one would weep.' she though. She smiled when she felt like frowning, and swallowed a lump in her throat.
"Thank you." Bonny stretched her arms into the sleeves and laughed again. "Your coats really big."
'Your coats really big? What?! God I'm.. Stupid. Of course It is. The award for realization goes to Caption Obvious over here!' She mentally scolded herself. Bonny exhaled a breath she didn't know she was holding.

Once more, he laughed. She was amusing, he thought, and kind with words. Perhaps they are merely words, but for once, he was quite glad that he need not think of more words to further beautify his speech. He felt a tinge of freedom encircling him at that moment.
How strange, how odd. Is there something in me that I failed to notice?
Dreamer, constantly dreaming of the world, running away, forever and ever...Estel's voice echoed in his mind.
Razakel smiled, "At least someone would, your mother, perhaps? Or your lover," he chuckled, "Ah, how he would weep for those lost moments when he could not be with you because of your illness. Then again, the foolhardy ones would leap into the ditch to save the maiden without first thinking about one's own safety. Foolhardy, yes, but courageous as well, no?"
You're too much in your fairytale, Razakel, Ezra's annoyed voice sounded in his mind.
And you are too much in your logic, Ezra.[/b]
The cloak seemed to make her resemble a walking balloon of black, but then again, it was the same when he wore it as well. Oversized, yes, but comfortable.
"Aye, originally, it was meant to accomodate my..." wings was the word he wanted to say, but he dissuaded himself not to, "Nevertheless, I find comfort in it," he touched his cloak, gently brushing her arm, "It gives me me a sense of security, in a way," and power, in the other.

"Many human beings say that they enjoy the winter, but what they really enjoy is feeling proof against it. " Bonny looked around an the ground for something to focus on. 'I think I'm. I.. I need to breath.. My throat feels dry', she thought feel dazed. 'He brushed me...Think Bonny and say something intelligent.. '
"Which reminds me of what Lewis Bates said 'Cruel and cold is the judgment of man, Cruel as winter, and cold as the snow; But by-and-by will the deed and the plan Be judged by the motive that lieth below.' I don't know why I thought to say that. I guess.... Its sort of the reason I became a anthropologist. Bonny looked at Razakel only half way, staring at a spot near mid-chest; unable to meet his eyes.
"I have strong convections about society that lead me to believe if we could communicate better, we could stop fighting. I want to understand. I want to know why we choice to turn our backs on people we think are different. I don't think any person is born superior or more Holy then another. If I Could understand I could make others understand. I can't make them change their mind but at the very least I would want people to be more tolerant. Hate be-gets more hate. With so many people willing to die and kill for the hate they feel.. we need to look at the result. You have to love your children more then you have your enemy Mr. Razakel."
She slowly looked up at the man..
She stretched the coat around her more.
Bonny's face showed no malice; no joy for that matter. It was only her eyes that moved looking for something in his.

Razakel glasses flashed for a brief moment from the light. He pushed it up to the bridge of his nose, concealing his eyes from hers. It was not that he was hiding the fact that his eyes are now gray-white. Most people would look down on him and think of him as a blind man. Ironically, he was not blind even with those pair of odd-coloured eyes. He was used to being stared by others, but with Bonny, it seemed different. Every little detail seemed to matter to him when she is around.
He arranged his puppets on the bench as he listened to her. The words she used reminded him of a certain someone from long ago. She used to say these words to him, but at that time, he was never able to comprehend.
"Love and hatred are like two sides of a coin," said Emeliesa as she bent down to pluck the flowers, "A love without hatred is an empty love, a hatred without love is meaningless,"
He stood there, watching her.
"Like love, hate has the tendency to grow as well. It grows, consumes, and will eventually destroy," her voice sounded sad,
"Does love do that too?" he asked.
She only smiled.
Razakel fixed Estel's hair and turned back to look at Bonny, "Humans are selfish beings, I noticed. Their desire to be above everyone else turns them into a being far worse than demons or monsters," he leaned back and took off his hat, placing it next to his puppets, "It is a futile attempt, for humans quickly forget and only remember when it is too late,"
He knew this; he has seen it with his own eyes.
"But some like you realise it earlier than others," Razakel pointed a finger at her, "You, who is not blinded like the others. People like you know of it, yet, your voices are often too soft to be heard.

Bonny was quiet for a long time thinking about what he said. She picked at the material of the jacket and smoothed it's creases.
"Hmm. well, in a way..sometimes I feel like I'm the wrong person to make change because I am quiet. I want to be out spoken and have people listen to what it is I have to say because I do want to make things better.." she sighed
"But I think if I were any different I would not pay attention as well. I think I would most likely be someone I hated because of it. You have to take your time Sir.. you do. As much as I want to change the world I know it takes life-times for the work I am going. People don't really want to know what I have to say. No one wants to know about governments in other countries that steal the land of their people... or organizations in forming nations that prevent their people from having food."
"We want to hear our favorite sports team won last night and tomorrow we will get less taxes. Really, you know what I think? You can call it the Chaos Theory or Buddhism, but I think what one person does can be felt by another person thousands of miles away. We think other's pain doesn't touch us because they are so far away. I think we are lying to ourselves because pain is contagious." Bonny swayed a little digesting her words. Sometimes she would speak just going off her emotions on a subject.. now was one of those times and she wasn't sure of herself that she had said all she had needed to or too much.

Pain is contagious, eh?
The effects are quite obvious, razakel.
Oh? Even you are beginning to call me that way, Ezra?
Why, I know your name, raza- no, A-
"Humans tend to protect themselves and the ones within their clans first before they aid others. Sometimes, they can't be bothered at all," he surmised, "In the case of the current world that we live in now, skin colour has become a highly important factor when it comes to things like these,"
He leaned back and stared at the sky, shifting his glasses a little to avoid the light from blinding him; "Humans could care so little for others. Here they try to help other species, but not their own. The rules they built for their own benefits prevents them from helping each other. Countries ruled by presidents, kingdoms ruled by kings, republics ruled by democrats; rules, all rules," he smiled, "Perhaps that is why some of your efforts could not get to them,"
Razakel's thought moved elsewhere; what was it that Ezra wanted to tell? What was it that he tried to call him? He looked away, his eyes were distant. Perhaps the past before Emeliesa was coming to light, perhaps not. He wished it would go away, but he knew it will never.
"What belongs to you, will one day return to you," he murmured softly.

"I'm sorry to bring of such controversy with you... I don't think if is very kind for me to put you in a position to choose a side and my opinions are very bias. You are sweet in humoring me though. I ... very much appreciate it and will not forget. I must surly take each day one step at a time and give my heart over and over for my causes, what ever they may be. If each day's end is the emptied cut of compassion then each morning I will surly fill it anew." She brushed snow from her coat and smiled. Even in winter the park was very beautiful.
Her face faulted momentarily, "What do you mean.. by.. ' What belongs to you, will one day return to you'? I don't mean to pry so do tell me if I am."

He took a deep breath and released it slowly,
"Exactly as it says, Miss Bonny," he smiled, "You cannot discard what was rightfully yours, no? But...suppose you could just run away from all of it," he thought about this for a while, "But running away is like taking a vacation by the beach, and eventually you will return to the mess you have started,"
Razakel leaned forward and stared at the red leaves around him, noting the white patches of snow on its leaves. Winter was at its end.
"I was once someone who ruled above all, but I grew tired with that and all their worship," he recalled, the memories slowly coming to picture, "You could call it perfection, the true goal in life, but I sense something amiss. Through books and observing behaviours, I realise there was more to life than...ultimate power, and one of my subordinates began to display attributes that were closely related to that of a human being.
I then began my journey and threw away everything; my memories, my power, my soul. All for this one journey. And it seemed like everything makes more sense now...though with my memories of the past with me now, it all seemed...futile,"
He sighed. I spoke too much, he thought, but have I truly given up?
You chose to abandon your duties.
I am a free being.
Free in your thoughts, chained in your body, Master wanders, Master falls. Faster. Faster.

Bonny smiled softly at Razakel. It seemed to speak in a way that said he had problems and tails only he knew of. She was unsure of what he meant about his power and journey but hoped to give some ease to the pain he was suffering. HE did look to he in a constant state of turmoil. She did not wish to push him into saying anything he did not want as he would tell her what he please, in time. In time he would tell many thing to her she hoped. She regarded him as a man with many fascinating features. The way he spoke showed a level of intelligence that surpassed any she had spoken to yet in Bedlam.
Speaking with Razakel was akin to conversations with senior University Professors. The way he articulated his sentences was unique in its crispness as he seemed to take the time searching for each word. His manner of weaving knowledge and politeness was in the neighborhood of aristocracy. It was astonishing on a level she had never seen in a man so young. It held grace and poise. Beside him she felt childish and her words felt trivial.
What could she offer such a person, she wondered. The conclusion: Not much.
"Well.." she thought deeply. "All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware. Your journey has brought you to Bedlam and my journey has. I consider it a great thing that we should both find ourselves here in this year debating journeys. Perhaps you can also see so good in this coincidence. I can tell you that I do. I am very glad to have met you and spoken to you. It's also said that journeys, like artists, are born and not made. A thousand differing circumstances contribute to them, few of them willed or determined by the will-whatever we may think. All the more reason to look at each situation with a level of appreciation. All the work that goes into everything we feel of come to understand in our life could be seen as a combination of all the things we have ever witnessed, would you disagree?" Bonny smiled up at him. He was so much taller then her and she felt dwarfed.
"As for power I have no doubt that it is not the greatest of things and I would not miss it so. Admiration could also be tied to power and perhaps these things were bothering you for a reason. A reason that you would soon remember if you were to return to your old life, where ever it may be. Still... Power is the great aphrodisiac." There was a gleam in her eyes. "And you have heard, I'm sure, that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Being away from those things could only do a soul good. Maybe you are not used to this life yet but I would give it time Razakel. You have a beautiful way about you and I don't even think you know it."
